About Me

Me, at The Triangle in April 2024

Hi, I’m Mark (they/them) — a UX designer, product manager, and creative technologist currently living in Austin, Texas.

I build apps and websites designed to scale gracefully from single-user tools to expansive enterprise platforms. Currently, I'm leading UX and product design for a major telecommunications company's construction platform as a consultant at BP3, balancing detailed wireframes in Miro, polished mockups in Figma, highly-interactive prototypes in Angular, and keeping product roadmaps clear and effective.

Beyond my day-to-day, I'm an avid hobbyist developer experimenting with modern web and mobile tech stacks — Astro, React Router, Solid, Svelte, Deno, Swift — and a volunteer with Open Austin, working on civic tech initiatives alongside the Austin Public Library.

Cooking is my creative outlet, and over the years I've collected thousands of recipes and cooked hundreds of recipes, steadily developing my own creations along the way. Baking sourdough is my latest culinary adventure, challenging me with precision and patience.

In my downtime, I'm always seeking the next great TV show (recommendations welcome!), aspiring to play video games, or enjoying peaceful walks on Walnut Creek Trail — as long as it's not 100ºF outside 🥵

Things I Say

Some refrains you'll often hear from me:

Quotation-mark icon We can make the user experience of analog products better without making them digital.
Quotation-mark icon Humans are a equatorial species who were never meant to live this far away from the equator.
Quotation-mark icon “That’s the way it’s always been done!” is always a bad reason to keep doing something. Always.

Socials

I've tried to mostly divest from social media, but I still maintain some sort of a presence on a few platforms:
